Tag You're It Challenge Reminder - Happy Easter!

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I sure hope you're having a great day!  The weather here in the Midwest is crazy lately - one day it's spring.. the next day is winter LOL!  If you live somewhere sunny I sure hope you'd send a little our way!

The craft room is making good progress - I'm just about ready to move in - just a little trim along the floor boards and then I'm ready to relocate!

Today I'm playing along with the Tag You're It Challenge! The guest designer this time is Gayatri Murali and Wow!  what an amazing tag she has for us!  So many details.. check it out!!   I spy an ombre inky background with a stamped sentiment.  A cool pup with his toys and dish, and OMG!  A leash for the tag string!  I love the pieced sentiment too - part stamped on the tag, part on a little white cut out!  I even see a bunch of little hearts over the pooch's head - puppy love for sure!!

Some things I kept the same.. I stamped CAS-ual Fridays Zigs and Zags for a colorful background.  A stamping tool made it easy to switch colors and keep the lines straight.  The cute bunny (from Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends) instead of the pup.  This  bunny has a little basket full of eggs as an accessory, and I mimicked the sentiment stamping.
I wonder what you'll make!   I sure hope you'll join us for this challenge - you still have eight (8) more days to play!

Tupelo Designs LLC - Have A Blast!

Happy Friday!  I sure hope you're having a great day!  I always say that I love crafting because I can have a sunny day when it's raining, snow in the summer, and flowers in the winter.  Today I'm taking you to very far away places.. like other wordly places!  LOL!  I'm playing with the My Favorite Things Stamps Space Explorer.  I had so much fun making this cool background for this little astronaut!

I started with a panel of white card stock that I inked up with distress ink. I started with Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry - just a few spots here and there... then I went along the edges and into the center with Tumbled Glass and Blue Print Sketch. The outer edges are the darkest - rubbed with some Chipped Sapphire. Next I splattered the whole panel with water - and then splattered it again when it was dry with white paint.
I stamped all the images with Memento and colored them with Copic Markers.  The stamp set has a coordinating die set so no fussy cutting this guy!

The little freckles on the astronaut were added with a white gel pen and the hilly terrain he's standing on was cut with a snow drift die. I love when you can re purpose something to get more use from it!

I know you love crafting too or you wouldn't be here.  So I am going to recommend you try my favorite store - Tupelo Designs LLC.  They have lots of your favorite brands - and if you see something you better snap it up quick... it seems like the inventory turns around pretty fast there!

They always have free shipping (USA only) no coupon required.  They have lots of things on sale - AND you earn loyalty points with every order.  That means that dollars you spend today will turn into a discount you can use in the future!  I sure hope you'll give them a try!

I'm really happy with the items I've ordered from them.  Delivery is fast, packaging is beautiful.. and I love all the brands they carry.  Lately I admit I have a few items on back order -  I preordered the new Distress Oxide Inks and a few other things, but I know as soon as they come in Dan will send them my way!

Color Throwdown - Feelin Crabby!

I know things seem quiet here on my blog this week, but I promise I'm working hard behind the scenes.. next week I'm gonna knock your socks off with all the things I've made!

We're making progress on my craft room - dare I call it my "studio"?  Track lighting and fan are in, and the new flooring is down.  Next step is the desk DH is building.  We special ordered some countertops, he's building the supports.

Today I'm playing along at Color Throwdown!   I'm not one to gravitate to color challenges - my brain focusus on the colors and all I can think about are different things that are those colors.  It gets to hard to focus on one direction to go in.  The scene really caught my eye on this one... I picked up on the nautical elements to make this fun card!

I always call DH my "crabby" and you'll find them tucked all over my house if you look for them. This card is for him for putting up with me because I am crabby LOTS lately! I'm feeling stretched in different directions, and not feeling good at any of them lately. I know.. it's temporary.. I just want to be good at EVERYTHING!! LOL!!
I started with a base of pretty papers in teal and orange from Simple Stories Summer Vibes. The yellow tag is cut from paper in the So Rad collection.
The stamps (sentiment, crab and anchor),  and dies (tag, scallop border, wreath, and sentiment banner) are all from Reverse Confetti Seaside Stamp Set.  I really love the wreath die, it so versatile, and I think it doubles nicely here as a rope.
Now it's your turn!  Want to play?  Hop on over to the Color Throwdown!   And have a beautiful day!

Calling All Sistahs! March Blog Hop!

Hi and thanks for stopping by!! I'm calling out to all Sistahs! On the 17th of the month CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sponsors a blog hop to remind you and the important women in your life to make sure you're doing your monthly breast self-exam and scheduling a yearly mammogram. You can make a difference and you might just save a life!   I got mine last month - and thank goodness no recall this year!!

1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection is so important for treatment! We want all the women in our lives to know how important they are to us and how much we want them to live strong healthy lives.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps owner Michele is a survivor. She designed a line of stamps to provide support and to promote awareness. 50% of the sale of products in the "Calling All Sistahs" campaign are donated to breast cancer research and awareness.

If you're hopping along you should have reached m
e from Melissa Miller's blog.  You can get all the blog hop details and begin here - at the CAS-ual Fridays Blog!
It's also St. Patrick's Day so I want to add a bit of green to my design today! Since I'm hopping along every month I wanted to challenge myself to add a elements from the month or season to my design.

I started by watercoloring with distress ink on some Ranger watercolor paper. I stamped the Starlequin border over the watercolor in Delicata Gold ink.
The Word Ribbon is also stamped with Delicata gold ink and die cut.  I cut a second ribbon from gold glitter paper to place behind the stamped ribbon.

Four Petal Flower Fri Dies become Four Leaf Clovers.  I added some inking to their tips with a Copic Marker.   The sentiment in the top corner is from the Calling All Sistah's Stamp Set.

A scatter of gold sequins picks up on all the gold in the design. I wanted to include a little pink too so I added some sequins from the Sistahood Sparkle pack from Pretty Pink Posh.

Ok.. on to the next blog for you! Kelly Griglione's got some eye candy for you!!! But before you go.. please leave me a comment! Three winners will be selected from today's hop to receive a $15 gift certificate to the shop! But you have to comment to win!! You have until 12 am US EST on March 19 to leave a comment so you better hurry!

Here's a complete list of all the designers with projects to share today!

Want to go shopping? There's lots of stamps in the sale section of the store, and yes.. you can double dip using my special code. Any commission that would normally be given to me has been redirected to CASual Fridays for their Calling All Sistahs Campaign to use toward breast cancer awareness and prevention.
