Tupelo Designs LLC - You're So Cool!

Summer's in the air and I'm loving all the summer inspired stamps you can find at Tupelo Designs LLC.  They've got mermaids, tropical flowers and yes!  Even ice cream cones and popsicles to wet your appetite!

I told you that I love finding all my favorite brands at Tupelo Designs LLC.  I used to purchase direct from the manufacturer and always hated having to get my cart to a certain dollar amount to get free shipping.  At Tupelo Designs LLC you can mix and match whatever you like from your favorite brands and shipping is free every day with no coupon required.

And if you have some time go ahead and look around!  I think you'll like finding a few new favorites too.  That's how I discovered these yummy "Perfect Popsicles" from Sunny Studio!   I'm so glad I tried them and I know I'll be checking out this brand again!  There's even a set of coordinating dies to go with this set.

All the dies I used on this card are from Avery Elle - another brand you can find in the store.

First I stamped the popsicles in a rainbow of colors.  I used lots of different brands of ink.  These are two stamp images so choose a light and dark shade of each color.
Yes it was painful to cut the center Wonky Stitches rectangle from the center of my stamped masterpiece, but I'm so glad I did.  It adds a visual element to the design because of the wrapped twine around the center panel.

I even saved $5 off my order.. my customer loyalty points have been adding up. With each purchase you earn points that can be exchanged for dollars off your next order.

I sure hope you'll give Tupelo Designs LLC a try sometime ! They're my favorite store and it's always a treat to see what's new! Click here to jump to the store!

Muse Challenge #221 - I WOOF You!

I hope you're having a great day!  Things are a little quiet here this week... my son is off to Colorado with a few friends for the week.   The weather hasn't been the best either.  When it's not raining it's been super hot and humid.  I'm keeping cool playing in my craft room!
Today I'm playing along with Muse Challenge #221.  Here's the inspiration photo from designer Jenni Murray!  What a fun challenge and a great way for me to try something new!  I love how simple this design looks.  The colorful stamping in different directions is brilliant and I love the balance she created.  Notice each stamp is repeated for a fun pinwheel effect.

Here's what I came up with....

I thought it would be fun to repeat the colorful stamping with a mix of images and sentiments.
I mixed sentiments from three different Reverse Confetti stamp sets, Puppy Love, Paw Prints, and Big Notes.
You know I just love my pattern papers and I can't resist a few layers, so I addd some pattern paper to my design.

I mixed in some paw prints and hearts with the different sentiments.  I think this one is going to Grandmas house as a little thank you for watching Miss Moriko.  My sister always has a stock of treats for her and even brings a pocket full when she comes to visit.

I love how this one turned out and I gotta tell you.. I'm tempted to make on in pink with the girl pup with the bow on her head!   Stay tuned!  LOL!

Fusion Card Challenge - 4th of July Jars

I hope you and your family are having a terrific summer!  It seems like the month is just flying by!  We've been grilling out almost every day!  I love having a house full and any excuse is game for me to invite folks over for a while.  Mr. J. takes over the grill and I'm the bartender.  I try to keep it simple with a pitcher of something.. usually margaritas or pina coladas.  It's a real treat in the hot weather!

A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge!  You can work with the sketch OR the inspiration photo. If you're feeling clever you can fuse them both together.    Of course I was smitten with the Red White and Blue USA theme!
I went straight for the Simple Stories All American 12" paper pack.  It comes complete with pattern paper, 12 x 12" sheets you can cut into journaling cards and a sticker sheet.
I attached some of the stickers directly on the pattern paper like the "4th of july" sentiment, others I attached with adhesive foam tape.  To do this I removed the sticker from the sticker sheet.   Next I adhered foam sticker squares.  Make sure to keep the backing on the foam sticker square.  Next I apply powder from my embossing buddy (you can use baby powder too) to make the sticker easy to work with.
The starts and stripes circle, word banners and rockets are all separate stickers.  The ledger paper with the balloons is a cut apart journaling card.

I added a few red and blue enamel dots for some shine!

Tupelo Designs LLC - Beach Day!

Happy Friday! It's my day to post for Tupelo Designs LLC! Every Friday I feature a project with goodies from the Tupelo Designs LLC Store! With so many different brands to chose from the hardest part is deciding what to play with. I decided to celebrate summer with this adorable set from My Favorite Things called Beach Day!

There's lots of masking going on with this background.  I started with the sand at the bottom.  I hand cut a piece of scrap big enough for the width of an A2 size card, and cut it in half with a slight curve.

I held the top half on my card stock panel in place and started distressing the sand with Ranger Antique Linen and Old Paper.  Next I splattered it with Ranger Broken Twigs ink that I added a little water to.

When that was dry I got to work on the top half starting with the sun.  I cut a hole in a piece of scrap paper and inked in the sun with Ranger Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed.  Next I removed the mask and placed the circle over the inky sun and started applying distress ink in  Tumbled Glass around the sun.
I die cut some clouds and used it as a mask for the clouds, starting at the bottom  - inking the clouds, and then and working my way up an inch at a time.
The image of the girl was inked with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating Beach Day die set.   A gel pen was used to add some freckles to her little sun blushed cheeks!
